What an exciting time as kindergarten children begin their school year!
We will spend the first few days getting to know new friends, school rules,
 and school helpers. I always make their picture on the first day of school and 
let them draw a self-portrait of themselves. Both are interesting to compare toward
 the end of the year! We will sing and read poems about school. 
And yes, we will read many books about going to school.


Read To Me
Read to me riddles and read to me rhymes,
Read to me stories of magical times.
Read to me tales about castles and kings.
Read to me stories of fabulous things.
Read to me pirates and read to me knights,
Read to me dragons and dragon-book fights.
Read to me spaceships and cowboys and then,
When you are finished -- please read them again.
