"he mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires."
William A. Ward

fter graduation from Pickens High School in 1973, I became a teacher's
assistant in the Pickens County Child Development program.
For thirteen years, I worked with 3, 4 and 5 year-old children and with many
wonderful teachers and assistants. My husband and parents began to encourage me to go to college to
earn my teaching degree. In 1986, I began taking university transfer courses at
Tri-County Technical College and received my  Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary
with honors from Southern Wesleyan University in December 1993.
In February 2005, I began the Master of Education program at Southern Wesleyan University
and graduated May 6, 2006.

This web site is dedicated in memory of my parents,
Dr. George and Nancy Case, who both passed away in 1998.
Their encouragement, love and guidance helped me become the teacher I am today.

Seven Affirmations For Teachers

I am proud to be a teacher.
Teaching is one of the most honorable and noble of all professions.
I love what I do and know that my enthusiasm is contagious.
I bring knowledge, dedication, and understanding to my classroom.
I make a positive difference in my students' lives.
My students will be better people because of me and I will
be a better person because of them.

I know that what I give to my students will come back to me
in many wonderful and unexpected ways.
